Winter is almost over for the year and I can not wait. (Rain and single digit temperatures again today). Its been a very busy time. I have done a lot of stitching and got a few more finishes in and some more progress on others. Even a few new starts:

My first finish was Victorian Christmas Eve by Nora Corbett. She is so beautiful
Another finish was Santa's sleigh from the Christmas Eve Couriers by Nora Corbett
I also finally got around to sewing together the 3 star wars sugar skulls. They look great hanging up in the bed room.
I made some good progress on Christmas Garden by Blackbird designs
Finished Finished friends from Trifles by merrily a beams.

Finished Advent calendar from JBW designs
Progress on Circus of hearts from Ink Circles. I am now halfway completed
Getting closer to a finish on one of my Heaven and Earth Design - Owl

Progress on Victorian Dolls house by Joan Elliot
Another new Start was the Victorian Street Scene

That is all for  now, I am making great progress on my year of wips challenge for 2017. I am over half way thru my original list of wips.

Thursday, 25 May 2017

Well it seems like a lifetime has passed since my last blog. Computer is now fixed so I can finally do this.

It is now starting to feel like winter here in Christchurch New Zealand, Cold, wet, foggy and freezing winds. Perfect conditions for stitching.

In my absence I have been stitching away a lot on my year of wips challenge for the Soulful Stitching Group on Facebook.

Finishes since February:

Rose Arbour - by Mirabilia

Finished 12 Days of Christmas Free Pattern from Plum Street Samplers, Stitched this in a long pull bell style .

3 little stockings stitched on a scrap of 30 count . Designs by Lizzie Kate

A wee mini finish - from just cross stitching Magazine June 2017

Sampler of my Grandma by Jardin Prive

I have also been working on Victorian Dolls House by Joan Elliot, making slow progress

French Filigree by Heaven and Earth Designs, has some progress been made on it, almost 1/4 of the way thru the pattern

Dusty Rose a retired chart from Heaven and Earth Designs has had a lot of love, I have passed my goal of completing the top 2 rows before the end of the year and have completed several more pages, I find it really hard to put aside once I get started.

Victorian Christmas by Nora Corbett is also close to being finished. Less the 1/3 to go and she will also be completed.

I have been concentrating on New Owl from Heaven and Earth designs this week and hoping for a finish very soon.
I have been participating in several challenges on face book in Soulful stitching ; stitch from stash 2017A and Cross stitch finish line. these challenges are great they are helping me to keep focused on by current wips and its lovely to see lots of progress.

Not a lot of new starts at the moment as I am concentrating on my larger wips.

Okay time to get back to stitching

busy summer time

Its been a very busy start to the new year, I have been working a lot of extra hours.  I have also been doing a lot of stitching in the little free time that i have got.

Let start with the finishes from .January

Completed Gwen from Nora Corbett

She was stitched on a scrap of brown fabric that I had in my stash.I am sure that is 28 count.

I also managed to finish a small for the month of January

The stitching hour by Durene Jones from the cross stitcher issue Oct 2016

My largest finish for the month was my Santa's Village from Country cottage needleworks, I have now finished all 12 village pieces. They were stitched on twilight blue 32 count fabric and done in to sets of 6. which i will be turning into table runners.
