January WIPocalypse check in

January 29th 2018

Well it has been a busy time: I have managed a few accomplishments on my cross stitching:

New start:

Let's go way back - Antique/historical Sampler: for Soulful Stitching only worked on this for 1 day.

New start, old stash Jan Sal - Stitch from Stash 2018 - Stitchers Sampler by Ginger and Spice - worked on this for 6 Days:

Christmas all year round Sal - Stitch Maynia. Santa Claus - Merry old Gent worked on for 3 days

Also stitched on Christmas Gentlemen for the Christmas all year round Sal- Stitch Maynia , work on these guys for 5 days

For the stitchathon weekend (cross stitch finish line) and the IHSW weekend also the full coverage sale from Stitch Maynia  - Dusty Rose, she is one of my oldest wips and I have only completed 13 pages out of 54 so far, need to get lots of progress this year, hopefully. Stitched a total of 8 days, I worked on 2 pages , but did not manage to complete any yet.

For the wip it weekends I worked on Sampler Stitchers from Little House Needleworks: worked on this for 4 days

I worked one evening on Brew HA HA  not a lot of progress made on this , halfway thru is body.
I spent 1 day stitching on Repair Shop:
I stitched 4 days on Amish Quilt Sampler , got the boarder done and have started on the blocks inside

1 day stitched on Willow House Alphabet
For the Year of Starts: Stitch Maynia- New start on the 18th of each month. This month I chose to start Needle and Thread from Little House needleworks 3 evenings working on this one.

I worked on Florentina - for Mirabilia Mondays - I managed to get the skin done on her face and part of one arm.
On my final weekend for January I worked on the Victorian Doll House by Joan Elliot, Got 2 rooms completed and part of the roof, only the back stitch to complete on those 2 rooms.
Looking back at what i have worked on I feel like i may have suffered from stitches, adhd this month, hopefully more settled next month.

Ps I have worked on a couple of Prairie Schooler Santa's , in the car while waiting for work to start, but alas the are in the car right now, i will try and get photos, if not i will show them next month.

That is all for this month, as you can see I have been participating in a lot of sals and will not be adding any more at this stage, maybe later in the year.

2018 New year , New Plans

Hello 2018:

It is already the 5th of January and this year seems to be going fast.

I have decided to continue with this blogging thing again this year, but I am going to try and keep my updates a lot more regularly.

I am participating in a lot of online groups and challenges this year again to keep my motivation going for my stitching.

 I am committing to:

Stitch from Stash 2018, I have chosen to have a budget of $25 per month for only necessary items needed for completing any of my current wips or sneaky new starts.

  • New start, old stash - Jan Sal : Stitchers Sampler, Ginger and Spice
  •  Ground Hog Day (Neverending Wip) - Feb Sal: Misty Rose, Heaven and Earth Design ; retired pattern
  • M is for March (Mira and others) Sal - March Sal: Florentina and Adia The Garden Fairy both by Mirabillia

  • Earth Sal - April Sal: stitch something related to the planet Earth... green, space, flora, fauna...I am still a little undecided about what i want to stitch for this one, but have plenty of time :)

  • Spring Summer Sal - May Day - stitch projects related to spring & summer.. flowers, gardening, bright colors, etc.. - I have chosen to work on Garden Party and Cherished Dreams By Paula Vaughan

  • Finish it up - June Sal : Finish what you can before the end of the month. I will decide on the projects to do closer to the time for this one

Soulful stitching - year of wips challenge, I have chosen several projects to work on they range in size from small finishes - Mirabilias, and even 2 heaven and Earth designs that have been ongoing for a couple of years due to the sizes of them. The list of my wips can be found in the side bar :)

  • Lets go way back - Sal: This SAL you will work on a antique or historical sampler. This is for us to travel back in time and explore some of the pieces that created this wonderful craft. I have chosen Fanny Harris Sampler 1852, Heritage Collection From McCalls Hertiage Collection

  • For the love of Cross Stitch Sal: This is showing our love of cross stitch! In this SAL we will work on anything that represents our love for stitching. Favorite WIP, favorite fabric, favorite floss, or anything that shows the love. I think I will work on 2 projects for this one. Cross stitch Nation by Heartstring Samplery and also Stitchers Sampler by Ginger and Spice

  • Full Coverage - Sal : This is a SAL that will help us get stitches in full coverage designs! Remember one "x" eventually completes the design. I have chosen to work again on Dusty Rose from Heaven and Earth Design
  • Stimulate your Sal: This SAL will help us to expand our knowledge of stitching. Take the time is this SAL to learn a different technique, use different fabric, thread, or stitch a design out of your comfort zone! Stimulate Your Stitch - Not sure what I want to start yet, I have a Chatelaine that I may start for this.

Cross Stitch Finish Line: Series Killer  1st - 7th of each month, I am able to stitch on a series that I would like to get completed. I have chosen to work on the 2007 Cross Stitcher's Surprise Series from Rainbow Gallery (free Charts)designed by Erica Michaels.

  • CCN or LHN Sal: Stitch on anything from one of these designers: I think I will stitch on Sampler Stitchers by Little House Needle works - a new start for me this year

  • Terrible two Sal - A wip that is 2 years old at least , well I have couple that will fit into this category: Dusty Rose, Barnyard Kittens, Filigree and Fairy Grandmother to begin with.

AS well AS all of these groups on line I will be working on the Prairie Schooler Santa's again this year, need more for my Santa Christmas tree.

I am also intending to take part in the International Hermit and Stitch Weekends this year, as I have lots to get thru.
